Solar PV experts team visits Dhiffushi island

A team of experts comprising of experts from Kansai Electric Power Company, Japan and Maldives Energy Authority visited the K.Dhiffushi Island on 13th April 2012 to gather first hand data required for the designing of Solar PV grid connected system at K.Dhiffushi Island.

The electricity consumption pattern and solar radiation flux density data which are crucial for the design of a Solar PV grid connected system, were collected using pre installed Datalogger and a Pyranometer. Beside from the above data, various other information and data required for designing a Solar PV grid connected system at the island of Dhiffushi were also collected.

The project assisted by Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP) and Japanese Government is expected to complete by the end of December 2012. Under this project 40kWp Solar PV grid connected system will be installed at K.Dhiffushi Island. Presently diesel generators are used to generate electricity needed for the Island.
