A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the K.Hura Council and the Utility Regulatory Authority regarding the water testing of the K.Hura freshwater production system

To determine the quality of water supplied by the freshwater production system of K.Hura. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Hura Council and the Utility Regulatory Authority today. URA Director Ms. Fatima Fizna Yusuf signed the agreement on behalf of URA at a ceremony held at Hura.

Under the signed agreement, the supply water supplied to Hura will be regularly sampled and tested in collaboration with the Hura Council and URA. The council will be trained and capacity building in supply water sampling.

With the memorandum of understanding signed today, water quality monitoring will begin in rural areas other than the city. URA hopes to continue this work in other villages of Sri Lanka.
